About Me
Hello friend, my name is Eric Brown. Let me tell you a little about myself.
My wife, Sonya, and I began our debt-free journey several years ago by studying and following the Dave Ramsey program. Our accomplishments have strengthened our relationship and inspired me to become a professionally trained Dave Ramsey Financial Master Coach so that I can help others experience their own path to financial success.
I earned an Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and worked in IT management for over 30 years.
As your Financial Coach, I strive to support you in defining and reaching your financial goals, fostering open communication and personalized strategies for long-term success. I will guide you in developing a realistic spending plan, aggressively paying debt, and building savings and investments to create the prosperous future you envision.
Don't go at it alone. I'm here to help.

A Financial Coach’s role is to provide education, tools, processes, resources, and encouragement to help clients develop positive financial habits and behaviors that increase their financial well-being and motivation to improve their personal finances.
Financial Coaching is different from the role of a Financial Adviser by focusing on financial awareness, behavior change, tools, and processes where a Financial Advisor manages investments and assists with retirement planning. One key benefit of Financial Coaching is the emphasis on Goal identification and alignment, accountability, and regular meetings to help clients stay on track.
They are not mutually exclusive as many people use both a coach to help get out of debt and build good financial habits and an advisor to manage investments when ready.
100%! We review the client's financial situation in detail with the client in order to develop strategies and plans. No need for account numbers, logins, etc. because you are executing the plan. I am the coach.
Financial Coaching is an investment in your future and is designed to provide a return far beyond the coaching fee. Since your program is customized to you and your goals, the associated cost will be determined in the initial No-Cost Consultation.
If you’re trying to get out of debt, other options (like credit counseling and bankruptcy) only manage the symptoms. They don’t change the habits that got you there.
Absolutely! In fact, it is a requirement for married couples. Learning to work on finances together with shared goals strengthens your relationship and the shared accountability helps keep you on track.
